Support The Family – Improve The Outcome!
Workshop Objectives:
- Gain knowledge of successful 'Models of Change' for supporting families affected by someone’s drug issues.
- Identify the 5 stages that families experience and effective ways to respond.
- Learn how to communicate more effectively with families in a work and/or professional situation.
- Develop understanding and gain skills to assist families to build resilience and improve the outcome for both the person who uses the drug and the family.
- Recognise the importance of psycho-social education for a family, in relation to the significant barriers they may face.

Stepping Stones 8 Events
- Stepping Stones is a structured, interactive and experiential course that brings people with similar challenges together.
- This course is for families and friends supporting someone else with drug and/or alcohol problems. “A road map through the chaos”
- The goal is to turn crisis into coping and help you change and regain your own life.
- Winner of 'Excellence in Prevention and Community Education' - National Annual Drug and Alcohol Awards.
- This course runs over two consecutive weekends, with participants required to attend all 4 full days.
- Registration is required.

Stepping Forward 32 Events
Stepping Forward
- Education and interactive sessions for families, friends and workers providing information and support relating to alcohol and other drugs.
- Each session runs for approximately 2 hours and is open to the public
- Current Modules offered:
Session 1 – Families Stages of Change
Session 2 – Effective Communication
Session 3 – Alcohol and Other Drugs Information
Session 4 – Drug and Alcohol Treatment Options
Session 5 – Setting Workable Boundaries
Session 6 – Dealing with Conflict
Session 7 – Families and Ice
Each session runs for approximately 2 hours and is open to the public.

Stepping Forward Topic Preview – Stages of Change for Families
This video explains the work of Family Drug Support and discusses the Stages of Change for Families model. This model can be helpful for families to understand where they are at on their journey and start to learn how to cope depending on what stage they may be at.
