27 Tony’s Presentations, Conferences & Workshops... September 2023 - Rockhampton Roadshow In September 2023, Family Support Workers, Belinda Arnold and Mona Elkhishin from Rockhampton were joined by the founder and CEO of Family Drug Support, Mr Tony Trimingham and Queensland State Manager, Anna Daglish to facilitate, the ‘Support The Family Improve The Outcome’ workshop, and collaborate with local services working to improve the wellbeing of families within the Central Queensland region. Over four days the Teammet with staff from Queensland Health including, Central Queensland Mental Health Alcohol and Other Drug Services, Lives Lived Well, Central Queensland Indigenous Agency, Helum Yumbah, local community Services, and local government councils. On the 11 th September, Family Support Worker Mona Elkhishin was interviewed by Wins News, to promote the roadshow and the vital work the organisation does to support and empower families. On the 12 th September, Tony and the Team met with residents of Binbi Yadubay, a Rockhampton AOD Residential Service. Tony spoke on the history and work of Family Drug Support and residents were very thankful to learn of the support offered families. Many stayed longer to talk with Tony and acquire details to provide to their families. On the 13 th September, The Support the Family Improve the Outcome Workshop was delivered at the Rockhampton Leagues Club and was attended by over 50 people, including community service providers, and families within the CQ Region. This was opportunity for staff working in AOD Services to learn of the impact of substance misuse on families and that support and education are key to enhancing outcomes. Tony and Anna were also available to speak first hand to families attending the Rockhampton Support Meeting, and this was long awaited by several people who were provided with an opportunity to speak directly with the FDS Management Team.
