Heroin

My eyes blur red,
I'm silenced by your hesitations.
My pulse bleeds,
soul screams
you're in my veins,
pure,
distilling my blood.
Their empathetic prayers
fall short.
I'm blind
floating in the void.
A vacuum that
must be filled . . .

Cool snow on my face
freezing my silence,
My heart.
It's too cold here
With you
Alone.

Nowhere to go
the warmth
it's all gone
to my head.
I see God
he's blonde.
Spiralling down
with my tears.
My secret tears,
Tearing me apart.
They're so sharp
it hurts.

I see the bottom
in shades of gold.
Flames lick my face
like amphetamine
fed puppies
all alone
I feel
it
like home.
My brothers
My sisters
They're crying
out for me.

I'm upside down
drowning
in their tears.
My breath comes
in waves.
There's nothing left here.

All I wanted was to fit in.
That's how it is
with
us,
the
city
kids.
