Heroin
II

February 99 Heroinsight
You would have been an ordinary person
with extraordinary talents,
tracing bright images
in fantastic paths of words,
our daily crises, your common trials,
raised by an oddly vivid insight.
We'd have laughed and regretted your frailties.
We'd have loved you, lost sight of you,
heard rumours through friends.
You'd try again, fail again,
and steal from the squall
provisions of innocent humour,
stories, drawings,
caricatures of the comitragic trail.
You wouldn't have become a myth,
delicate in that brilliant landscape,
flailing awkwardly in the light.
You'd have stayed an ordinary,
extraordinary person, struggling
toward the advance of night.by
