The Monster

That's Inside Me

ref: December 98 heroInsight

I love you Mum
I love you Dad
But the Heroin
It makes me bad

The Monster that's inside of me
Controls my actions
Makes me deceive

It's not a place I want to be
But the Heroin has control of me
At every stage I want to stop
But the Big Bad Monster
It does not

I know the pain that you must feel
The helplessness is all so real
Please understand that it's not me
But the Big Bad Monster
It must feed

Please keep faith that it can change
And a Warrior may take its place
Because, as long as I'm alive
There is a chance I will survive

And when I talk about survive
It means a life I'll live with pride
A pride to walk, my head held high
And once again be by your side.

Jason
