I
am writing to you on behalf of my wife Cindie and myself
in regards to the needle exchange program that is currently
available to the general public.
We
have both been using this service regularly for the
last three or so years and have very recently stopped
as we ceased using heroin and have started rehabilitating
ourselves through the commencement of the methadone
program.
We
both feel very strongly that this service should continue
as it has helped maintain our health through not having
to share or clean dirty needles.
We
are both HIV negative with no signs of hepatitis, thanks
to this program.
It also protects the public from used and dirty needles
by providing a safe place to dispose of them.
